Community Development in My Publications

The following papers are or will be published sooner or later. They show the way I look at the subject of community development. As the papers suggest, my main focus lies in economic and conflict issues in community development. Specifically I am interested in agglomeration economies, various forms of city assets, and conflict issues in planning.

1. Agglomeration Economies
In Kwon Park and Burkhard von Rabenau, “Disentangling Agglomeration Economies: Agents, Sources, and Spatial Dependence,” Journal of Regional Science, forthcoming

Jung Won Soon and In Kwon Park, “The Increasing Importance of Agglomeration Economies Hidden behind Convergence: Geography of Knowledge Production”, Urban Studies, forthcoming.

2. City Assets
In Kwon Park and Burkhard von Rabenau, “Abandonment in an Economy under Transition: Industrial and Commercial Properties” (Unpublished Working paper).

3. Conflict Issues
In Kwon Park, “Local autonomy and conflicts over state projects: The case of the Yeonggwang nuclear power plants,” Critical Planning: Journal of the UCLA Department of Urban Planning 12, 77-90, 2005.
